The student charter bus sponsored by the Metro Washington Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association provides safe, reliable, and economic transportation for students traveling from University Park to the Washington, DC metro area over holiday and semester breaks.  This is our 10th year of running the bus and we expect this to be an ongoing service we will provide our local students as long as the demand is there to run it in a cost effective manner. 

Thanksgiving Break Leaves on Friday, 11/20 Returns on Sunday 11/29
Winter Break departures tentatively on 12/17 and 12/18, Returns Sunday 1/10
Spring Break Leaves on Friday, 3/5, Returns Sunday 3/14

DEPARTURE TIMES AND LOCATIONS

NOTES:      
1. The bus will leave at posted departure times – NO EXCEPTIONS!
2. The bus will pick up students in the same locations they were dropped-off.
3. If you have a class or exam that will prevent you from making the 4:00 PM UP departure time, speak to your professor early in the semester to ensure you'll be able to make the departure time. Be PROACTIVE!

RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENTS

To encourage early commitments we have instituted an early payment schedule. Early commitments are any checks postmarked (2) weeks prior to the departure date. Like the departure time, we have decided to set firm deadlines for the discounted rate. For checks mailed after the discount deadline, please be sure your amount is for the full (not discounted) rate. All reservations paid for during the discount period will be guaranteed a spot. Afterwards, seats will be on a first come basis as determined by the date the check is received.  Seats will no longer be held without payment, unless special arrangements have been made with Wayne Hudders.

CANCELLATIONS / REFUNDS 

Please remember that we make decisions, sign contracts and send payments based on the number of committed riders. All too often we get last minute cancellations for any number of reasons, the volume of which has become unacceptable.  Our policy is that trips cancelled by the end of the discount will receive a $45 refund/trip segment cancelled.  Trips cancelled after the discount period ends but prior to four days before the trip leaves will receive a $35 refund/trip segment cancelled.  Trips cancelled in the four days prior to a trip leaving will not receive any refund.
